2005 Grüner Veltliner Trocken, Langenloiser Berg-Vogelsang, Kamptal, Weingut Bründlmayer, Austria, Waitrose, £12.99.

The terraced mostly gneiss soils of the Berg-Vogelsang vineyard in Langenlois produce grüners with exceptional flavour. I loved this summery white's ripe, peppery, exotic fruit and its fine, leafy, floral finish.
