Sweden: Vin&Mat’s Wine Producers of the Year 2006

The choice of Wine Producer of the Year made by Sweden’s wine journalists for the prestigious gourmet magazine Vin & Mat (number 1/2006) confirmed Bründlmayers high Profile in Scandinavia.. An impressive, cross-media panel of 27 judges elected Willi Bründlmayer among the three „best wine producers” represented on the Swedish market.

Moreover this year Sweden’s wine journalists put the grape variety “Grüner Veltliner” behind Riesling (!) and Pinot Noir into 3rd place overall, again a wonderful rise in image for this most Austrian of grapes. Due to a steadily rising interest, the wine country Austria is gaining profile in Sweden and is named within the Top 6 wine producing countries in the world.
