Beverage Testing Institute Chicago: Grüner Veltliner Lamm 2003 as best of the Vintage

A vintage tasting of Austrian wines at the Beverage Testing Institute of Chicago was the lastest occasion for the exceptional vineyards of Heiligenstein and Lamm to show their great qualities. Grüner Veltliner Ried Lamm 2003 was awarded 93 points, emerged as best dry white wine of the vintage and was given the rating "exceptional".

Brilliant straw hue with a golden tint. Herbal tea, ginger and freshly picked apple aromas. Medium-full with very good depth of fruit, this is an excellent effort with plump and tasty varietal fruit, a generous mid-palate and a lengthy, well-structured finish with tart acidity, which was founded in 1981 with the objective of producing fair and impartial wine reviews for consumers. Today, this philosophy still holds true. ( Tasting notes BTI)

With 92 points each, both of our wines from the Heiligenstein also convinced

the judges, who highlighted the impressive aromas and the power of the 03 Rieslings.

Brilliant straw-yellow hue. Impressive peach and pear aromas. Medium-full, this is a richly flavored Riesling with pinpoint acidity and long finish with a trace of residual sweetness, though this high alcohol wine is basically dry.

Brilliant straw hue. Lime, chamomile and tea leaf aromas. Medium-bodied, this has a dry finish with nice persistence of fruit and a touch of spice backed by vibrant acidity. A taut, intense Riesling that will age beautifully. (Tasting notes BTI)
