Wonderful Käferberg brought in

16. November 2004 | 09:08

After a good number of rainy days we were able to harvest a wonderful Grüner Veltliner Käferberg during a spell of dry, brilliant sunshine

After many difficult days with fogs and moist weather, our mood was beginning to suffer from the weather. Then, at the end of the week, the fogs parted and the sun shone once more over Langenlois. This was a fantastic opportunity to harvest Grüner Veltliner from the Käferberg vineyard: grapes with intense aromas, freshness and rich body.

We will continue the harvest with Ried Lamm (also Grüner Veltliner). Only healthy grapes will be harvested. Bunches with botrytis will remain in the vineyard, hopefully for an Auslese or Beerenauslese harvest later in the month.

The wines already harvested are fermenting slowly but steadily. In January the first Grüner Veltliner "Leicht & Trocken" will be ready!
